Library Policies: Study Rooms

STUDENT STUDY ROOMS (073, 074, 077)

Study rooms are for student use only! 

 

Small Study Rooms (073 and 074)
  • These rooms each have a desk, computer, and two chairs.
  • Snacks and covered drinks only.
Large Study Room (077)
  • This room has a conference table and eight chairs.
  • Snacks and covered drinks only.

HOW TO RESERVE ROOMS

  • Students may reserve a study room for up to 2 hours per reservation. At the end of a reserved period, if the room is available, an additional 2 hour reservation may be made by speaking to a Library & Academic Support Center staff member.
  • Reservations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and may be reserved up to one week in advance.
  • Reserved rooms not occupied within the first 15 minutes will be considered available for use by other students.
  • Please cancel your reservation if the room is no longer required.
  • In order to promote equitable access, the Library & Academic Support Center reserves the right to prevent groups from monopolizing study rooms and the Collaborative Classroom.

COLLABORATIVE CLASSROOM (075)

This room is designed for active, collaborative learning for groups of 3-12 people. The room has a media-scape for sharing documents via laptop plug-ins. The room also has two whiteboards. There is no audiovisual projection equipment in the room. 

  • Students can use this room for collaborative group work and study. 
  • Faculty and staff can use this room for group trainings and professional development.
  • Priority will be given to groups requiring use of the room’s technology.
  • NO food or drinks of any kind in this room.

USING THESE ROOMS

  • Individual students or a member of a student group will be responsible for checking out the room key at the Circulation Desk and returning it once the room is opened.
  • Students must keep the room in good condition. Turn off all equipment and lights and dispose of all trash before exiting.
  • Students using the room will be liable for any damages or inappropriate use of the room.
  • Students are expected to comply with appropriate library and college policies.
  • Noise levels from any conversations and/or equipment must not disturb others.
  • Students are responsible for personal belongings left unattended in study rooms.
  • Rooms must be vacated 10 minutes prior to Library & Academic Support Center closing time.
  • For technical assistance or to report any problems, contact a library staff member.
